During my time reporting at the UN General Assembly, I had the chance to interview the UN’s Assistant Secretary-General of Youth Affairs, Felipe Paullier Olivera and youth leaders attending the Summit for the Future. I also reported on ceasefire negotiations in the Security Council and on speeches from world leaders like Joe Biden, Vladimir Zelensky, and Benjamin Netanyahu. I got to witness so much world-shaping work happening at the UN, but I realized a critical piece that political institutions often lack is a way to communicate why they matter to normal people. That’s what I tried to solve with this video, which reached more than 20K people on social media.
